Mikael Meema: The Hour / The Lesson
Mikael Meema’s latest stand-up comedy show is titled “TUND” (“THE LESSON” / “THE HOUR”). It features new material and new stories—all rooted in the distant past. Why “TUND”? In the context of the local comedy scene, the term “stand-up hour” has traditionally been used to indicate that a comedian will spend roughly sixty minutes in front of you. But it’s also because the recurring theme of this collection of jokes and stories is memories from school days. What was your favorite “lesson”? Recess, right? That said, don’t expect a strong, overarching narrative; this isn’t a serious or educational show. Instead, we’ll simply spend an evening together—one that will likely unfold much like many of our actual school days: you probably won’t come away much wiser, but you’ll certainly have a fun time.
